Ron van der Ende schrijft:
“Absolut Potatohead.
I’m not in favour of the branding of public events. In this town we recently had the Volvo Ocean Race and the Bavaria City Race. The names sound silly, with the brand name just adding noise. I don’t like it in sports events, and i’m dead set against it in art events. I only found out just the other day that the show at the CBK I take part in, opening tomorrow, is in fact organised by Absolut Vodka, hence the word Absolut in the title. Had I realised earlier I would have declined, but nobody bothered to ask. Did they think it was completely selfevident artists would not object to be affiliated with a vendor of hard liquor?”
“ABSOLUT VODKA went from popular vodka to pop art and became an icon, while many artists would follow.
[...]
ABSOLUT one of the most recognizable symbols of the 20th century.”
Absolut als kunst kortom. Absolut onder de kunstenaars Joost Benthem, Ron van der Ende, Evol, Lance de France, Insect, Mark Jenkins, Jeroen Jongeleen, Paul Notzold, Reineke Otten, Alexandre Orion, Owen Phillips, Niels Post, Gyz la Rivière, Thundercut, Esmé Valk en Jeroen de Vries.
