I’m not in favour of the branding of public events. In this town we recently had the Volvo Ocean Race and the Bavaria City Race. The names sound silly, with the brand name just adding noise. I don’t like it in sports events, and i’m dead set against it in art events. I only found out just the other day that the show at the CBK I take part in, opening tomorrow, is in fact organised by Absolut Vodka, hence the word Absolut in the title. Had I realised earlier I would have declined, but nobody bothered to ask. Did they think it was completely selfevident artists would not object to be affiliated with a vendor of hard liquor?”

Daar zegt-ie wat. Helemaal onopgemerkt blijft de opmerkelijke vrijage tussen het semi-ambtenaarlijke Centrum Beeldende Kunst en het sap van Absolut dus niet.
