“When I was studying painting in Rome I would go to Santa Maria de Popolo and look at the Carravagio paintings just about every day. I soon started to make a ritual that I would act as if it was the first time – every time – I saw the paintings. (Something like the Situationalists international) This ritual of re creating my journey helped me experience and see differently not only the paintings- but my surroundings. Born Again is a show where I intend the viewer to go through the same ritual of experiencing something new and for the first time . Walking through water , putting on a mask and listening to stories- things as old as time.”
